چکیده
Introduction The National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) issued a supplementary advice in 2009 stating that treatments for patients with short life expectancies (<24 months) can exceed the cost-effectiveness threshold GBP30,000 (EUR34,668) per additional quality-adjusted life-year (QALY), as long treatment is indicated small patient populations there sufficient evidence it extends (≥ three months), compared current Service (NHS) treatments. This study investigated how often NICE reimburses meet end-of-life (EOL) criteria. Methods technology assessments (HTAs) conducted by from to 2020 were reviewed approved oncology drugs. Terminated appraisals excluded. Data regarding EOL criteria these submissions then gathered. HTA decisions divided into following categories: met; not applicable. A chi-square analysis was performed. Results total 316 reviews assessed final sample, which 71 percent (n = 223) positive. Out positive decisions, 43 96), 25 55), 32 72) met, applicable groups, respectively. showed significant correlation between (p 0.0008). These results consistent when “EOL applicable” group excluded 0.001). When performed met” met”, along possible 0.05). Conclusions oncology, more than attempt, but fail,

متن کاملA few more functions that are not APN infinitely often
We consider exceptional APN functions on F2m , which by definition are functions that are APN on infinitely many extensions of F2m . Our main result is that polynomial functions of odd degree are not exceptional, provided the degree is not a Gold number (2 +1) or a Kasami-Welch number (4 −2k +1). We also have partial results on functions of even degree, and functions that have degree 2 + 1. ∗Re...
متن کاملLife-Sustaining Medical Treatments
To honor the wishes of an incapacitated patient, surrogate decision makers must predict the treatment decisions patients would make for themselves if able. Social psychological research, however, suggests that surrogates' own treatment preferences may influence their predictions of others' preferences. In 2 studies (1 involving 60 college student surrogates and a parent, the other involving 361...
